When choosing a company to design and manufacture something as beautiful as your custom staircase, consider the technical details, finishing touches, and added-value options to help differentiate each company.
To give you a better understanding of “The StairWorld Difference” – our customer service, the product quality, and the detail that goes into your stair project, we’ve outlined what we believe truly sets us apart.
Our standard freestanding curved stringers are built from twelve layers of laminated materials and are 3” thick, compared to the standard 2”, providing extra strength and stability throughout the entire stair.
Every tread, fitting, custom part, and box newel is CNC-milled, meaning they are manufactured to within 1/1000 of an inch of their design and ensuring a perfect fit every time.
We use screws – vs. nails – during construction, providing stability and durability, and preventing squeaks over the life of your staircase. This is reinforced with the use of glue when installing anti-squeak blocks to strengthen each riser and tread.
Every stringer is built from sequential sheets of veneer providing a consistent look and feel throughout the stair. Each tread is then color-matched providing the same aesthetically pleasing look as the stringer.
Cove moldings are standard on all our open-stringer stairs. We also include moldings under every tread and can provide extra to be used under the balcony nosing.
Mitered and radius joints on the risers, stringers, returns, and moldings give each stair a polished and professional finish.
Choosing a flared stair and bowed treads can make all the difference when deciding between a classic or modern finishing touch. Whether curving every tread, or just one, the possibilities are endless.
Each freestanding stringer foot is custom designed to reflect the size and weight of the stair, preventing bounce, evenly dispersing its weight, and enhancing the overall beauty of the stair.
We prefabricate your staircase to the exact specifications on your drawings in our temperature-controlled, state-of-the-art facility to ensure quality, save time on site and reduce job site waste. Before shipping, the entire staircase and railing are assembled in our shop. Railing parts get numbered and knocked down, and the staircase is shipped in one piece – ensuring quick and easy on-site assembly.
